As our long-term, major operations and maintenance contract continues to grow, we are seeking several talented Defence Fuel Operators to join our team in Darwin, NT. In this pivotal role, you will: Support the Defence Fuel Network across Australia, ensuring operational excellence and reliability. The Role - Defence Fuel Installations Operator (DFI Operator) Whilst this position supports multiple fuel installation sites around Darwin, you will be primarily established at Darwin RAAF base. As a DFI Operator, you will: Report to the Operations Advisor (OA) and perform a range of operational and functional tasks across the installation. Ensure the safe, compliant operation and management of aviation and/or ground fuel installations. Oversee fuel quality, compliance, quantity, and availability, including related systems and processes. Maintain technical integrity of fuel through quality control sampling and testing. Bring experience from similar environments—fuel or other high-risk/hazardous processing industries—highly regarded. No prior Defence or Fuel Industry experience? No problem! While Defence or fuel industry experience is advantageous, UGL’s comprehensive training and development programs provide a pathway into the industry. You’ll receive the skills and knowledge needed to perform your role safely, including access to specialised interstate facilities and a mix of onsite and offsite training throughout your career. What You Will Need A strong commitment to safety—it’s at the core of everything we do at UGL. Attributes such as initiative, teamwork, and dedication to the critical role we play in supporting Australia’s Defence Force. A valid driver’s licence (HR or HC desirable but not essential at entry). Ability to obtain appropriate Defence Security Clearance. Residency in Darwin or willingness to relocate (close proximity to Darwin RAAF Base).
