Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Fuels Compliance Specialist at a growth-oriented energy company
  • A golden opportunity to contribute to the expansion of the nascent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) market and regulations
  • Offers interactions between mandated and voluntary markets
  • Reporting to the Director of Fuels Compliance, you will primarily focus on federal and state regulatory requirements and incentives for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The Fuels Compliance Specialist will stay up to date with proposed changes with the regulations and support the Commercial Team’s strategic plans.

Key activities include:

  • Establish and maintain a strong business relationship with all internal and external Stakeholders
  • Coordinate the generation of RINs and reporting under the RFS program
  • Track the sustainability, traceability and lifecycle GHG emissions of biomass feedstocks and SAF under CORSIA
  • Manage record keeping requirements and Book and Claim systems
  • Facilitate the claims of the Clean Fuel Production Credit(45Z) with the Tax group
  • Coordinate annual audits and verification process for the facility (i.e. ISCC, LCFS, RFS)
  • Initiate process improvement recommendations for the fuel compliance group and the organization
  • Ensure contracts and product transfer documents are up to date and maintained
  • Monitor and promptly communicate changes to rules that have an impact on the business
  • Provide regulatory guidance to commercial, refining, marketing, and operations as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

Additional qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the fuel compliance field required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or trading operations preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with ISCC, RFS, LCFS, or other regulatory programs for transportation fuels required
  • Ability to effectively manage responsibilities and complete tasks on a timely basis required
  • Aptitude to learn quickly and self-driven required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements preferred
  • Experience working with SAP and Excel preferred
