The Fulfillment Specialist (“FS”) is responsible for contributing to the daily operations of Easterseals’ social enterprise, HB Threads at our Chicago campus. In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you will be part of a team responsible for managing inventory, processing orders, and handling. You will prepare and finish custom apparel, including embroidery and heat-press work, for online, in-person, and internal ECR orders. The job requires physical activity: you will regularly stand, crouch, and lift objects and parcels throughout your shift. This part-time position is 12 hours per week and reports to the Assistant Director of Career Pathways and Growth. The Fulfillment Specialist will work closely with HB Production Associates to ensure orders are completed on time and meet our high standards of quality. The entry-level Fulfillment Specialist role is ideal for someone interested in learning apparel production, order fulfillment, and team operations in a supportive, mission-driven environment. This position is headquartered at Easterseals Chicago Location at 1939 W 13th Street, Chicago, IL 60608. MAJOR FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Production (100%): Accurately prepare, process, and fulfill a variety of orders using embroidery, heat pressing, and button-making equipment, and ensure every item meets quality standards. Receive, process, and track orders from start to finish, meeting deadlines and maintaining proper reporting and tracking procedures. Maintain organized inventory and assist with inventory counts. Complete required reporting and data entry related to fulfillment and inventory. Perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements Education/Certification: High School diploma or GED required. Experience Required: At least 6 months of experience in production, warehouse, or retail environment. Experience using basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Teams, Publisher) and learning new software. Experience working in a team setting, with effective communication and a willingness to learn new skills. Preferred Experience: Experience with heat-press and embroidery machines is a strong plus. Exposure to graphic design or custom apparel is preferred. Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred. Familiarity with Square, WooCommerce, or other fulfillment ordering software. Vehicle/Transportation Requirements: Must have reliable transportation to the Chicago campus. Skills/Abilities: Ability to use data tracking systems and various software programs for project and program efficiency. Able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and to cultivate an atmosphere of cultural responsiveness, respect, and teamwork. Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-stress and fast-paced environment. The ability to move about a hybrid manufacturing/office/school environment to access various equipment or materials. Technologically adept – comfort, familiarity, and ability to learn and use variety of computer applications. Intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Canva. Ability to use internet browsers and video conferencing. Physically able to move within a hybrid manufacturing/office/school environment and lift to 50 lbs. Visual and auditory acuity (with correction as needed) within professionally determined normal ranges; and manual dexterity to operate a computer and office equipment, including, but not limited to, embroidery machines, heat presses, the telephone, computer, and copier.
