Description:

Candidates who multi-task effectively and have strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills might be a good fit for this Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity with growth potential. You might be a good fit for Robert Half’s Full Charge Bookkeeper position. This short-term Full Charge Bookkeeper position is located in Richmond, Virginia. If you’re comfortable with establishing and maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives, as well as all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, including the preparation of financial statements, you could be a good candidate for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
  • Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
  • Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
  • Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections
  • Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing
  • Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
  • Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
  • Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Foundational knowledge in Automated Payroll
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping
  • Solid understanding of Basic Bookkeeping
  • Command of full charge bookkeeping
  • QuickBooks experience highly desired
  • Excel and Peachtree experience desired
  • Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting
  • Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping
  • High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
  • Background in payroll preferred
