We are looking for an experienced Full Cycle Bookkeeper who will be responsible for direct oversight of the day to day development and construction accounting operations. This position will be based locally where our projects are in Calgary and report to the Controller.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google drive, and Google sheets
  • High-level organizational skills
  • Experience in accounting in the construction or trucking industry is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with QuickBooks
  • Fluent oral and written English
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Detail and deadline oriented
  • Memory for details
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player is required
  • Ability to handle constructive criticism and learn from mistakes

Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle accounting duties (such as billing, payables, balance sheet maintenance, reports, etc)
  • Full cycle bookkeeping (including monthly, quarterly and annual bookkeeping, government remittances and bank reconciliations)
  • Manage and process weekly payroll
  • Project tracking & management (expenses, billing and allocation)
  • Liaise with clients to ensure project billing and contact information is complete and correct
  • Prepare and analyze assorted project and financial reports
  • Work with all departments to ensure complete accuracy of payable and receivables
  • Dealing with customers and clients on accounting needs
  • T4/ T4A / T5018 / ROE preparation
  • Personal tax preparation experience is an asset
