Yellowbrick Data is a Silicon Valley based startup that invented a Kubernetes based cloud-native data platform for the hybrid multi-cloud world. Yellowbrick’s innovative platform can run in customer’s cloud accounts or on-premises private clouds, offering flexibility while ensuring data residency, localization, and sovereignty, all with significant performance improvements. Major insurers, credit card companies, telcos, healthcare firms and government agencies all trust Yellowbrick to transform data into actionable insights, quickly without compromising data security. Join us to drive business transformation at the forefront of data innovation.
JOB OVERVIEW
We’re looking for an application developer to work as part of a small team adding new features and functions to the Yellowbrick application. We’re evolving it from just being a management tool, pulling in and incorporating the functionality of other business applications like Zendesk and cloud vendor billing through API integrations; incorporating our documentation site, knowledge base and search capability (also based on Vue.js); building back-end data integrations for data integrations and AI; etc.
We’re looking for a true “full stack” developer, not just a UI developer. You’re early in your career and keen to learn and try different things. Although you have a strong sense of visual design aesthetics and love buildinguser interface code in Vue.js styled with Tailwind, you are equally comfortable writing and optimizing SQL database queries, connection management, implementing GraphQL endpoints, building out asynchronous TypeScript running in Node.js, and consuming third party APIs. You enjoy the challenge of debugging through all levels of the stack and have a passion for learning new things. You’ll need to find our business domain interesting and enjoy working with our users. You understand the value of databases and are interested in data algorithms and visualizations, analytics, data processing, SQL, big data and distributed systems. You’d find Kubernetes really interesting to learn if you don’t work with it already. You also have an eye for usability and attention to detail.
More importantly, you possess strong problem-solving capabilities, and are self-motivated to learn, debug, profile, and push yourself to be the best you can be in your field. You truly love your work, view it as a craft, and take pride in shipping quality products that are loved by customers. You’ll be working with some of the brightest and most capable engineers in the world and are keen to learn from them to make the best possible start to your career.
