Job Description Key Responsibilities: Architect and Design: Architect a comprehensive, developer-centric toolkit to abstract cryptographic complexity from product teams, enabling seamless transitions between algorithms. Establish Standards: Evaluate, select, and vet cryptographic libraries for enterprise-wide standardization, creating a curated set of "golden" components for developers. Build Reusable Patterns: Develop reusable code patterns, API wrappers, and reference implementations for our core programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go, C#). Provide Authoritative Guidance: Serve as the organization's foremost expert on crypto-agility, providing architectural consultation and design reviews for critical development projects. Champion PQC Readiness: Lead the technical research and architectural strategy for our transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography, transforming complex requirements into a practical, multi-year engineering roadmap. Collaborate and Influence: Work with the PQC Working Group, security teams, and executive leadership to align the technical roadmap with business objectives and risk posture. Required Skills and Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture, with a proven record of leading large-scale, enterprise-wide technical initiatives. Expert-level proficiency in multiple modern programming languages and distributed systems design. Deep, authoritative knowledge of applied cryptography, including PKI, TLS, key exchange, digital signatures, and certificate lifecycle management. Experience designing and building platform-level tools, libraries, or frameworks that have been successfully adopted by other engineering teams. Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering and leadership audiences. Preferred Qualifications: A strong interest in, and foundational understanding of, Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) concepts and the ongoing NIST standardization process. Experience contributing to open-source cryptographic libraries or security-focused projects. Familiarity with hardware security modules (HSMs) and key management systems (KMS).
