Engagement Type: Contract, Independent Contractor Hours: Full time availability, 40 hours per week Location: Remote, with partial overlap required with PST Reporting: Reports to the Web Development Manager About the Role Rove Concepts is hiring a Senior Full Stack Developer with a backend focus to help build stable, scalable systems that support a high volume e commerce business. You will work across backend services, internal tooling, APIs, and select storefront features with a focus on performance, security, and clean architecture. This role fits someone who ships fast without breaking fundamentals and can operate independently in a lean team. What You Will Do • Develop, scale, and maintain backend systems and APIs • Collaborate with product, frontend, and design partners to ship new features • Integrate third party tools, ERPs, and logistics platforms • Write clean, maintainable code with clear documentation • Identify and fix bugs or bottlenecks in staging and production • Improve system performance, data handling, reliability, and security posture • Participate in code reviews and raise engineering standards across the team • Use AI tools to accelerate testing, documentation, and debugging where it improves quality and speed What You Need • 4 plus years of full stack or backend development experience • Strong PHP and Laravel experience • Strong SQL skills using MySQL or PostgreSQL • Strong REST API experience and comfort designing integrations • Frontend exposure with React, Vue, or similar frameworks • Solid understanding of system architecture and devops fundamentals • Fluent English, written and spoken • Strong Git workflow and experience working in agile teams • Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copilot to speed up delivery • Partial availability during PST hours What We Offer • Full time hours and consistent workload • High impact work tied to real operational outcomes • A fast moving team with direct access to decision makers • A flat structure that supports ownership and fast decision making • Long term potential with regular performance based reviews Role Classification This is a contract engagement structured as an independent contractor role.
