Full Stack Developer
We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer to enhance our development capacity, working primarily on our PHP-based software products from our office in Northampton.
You will be part of a small and friendly software development team that is responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from ideas generation and requirements gathering, to development and release.
You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of our software products including games, digital signage, bingo solutions and audio-visual control systems.
The role will give you the chance to use your broader IT skills to assist in the deployment and delivery of our software products to clients, and assist our helpdesk team in resolving escalated software issues.
Although you would be required to have existing experience working within web development / software development environments, you will be given training in our current software products, with ongoing technical guidance to hand from the development lead.
You must be comfortable working individually to complete development tasks, but also be a great team player, working with colleagues such as other developers and designers. Ultimately you will have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas and a play a key part in the business’ future.
The role is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday; 09:00 – 17:30. This is an in-person position based in our Northampton office, although we will consider hybrid working upon successful probation.

Required Skills

• Experience in backend PHP web development
• Experience in front-end web development and design (HTML/JS/JQuery/CSS)
• Experience of DBMS systems (Including MySQL and SQLite)
• Familiarity with XML, JSON, and source control with Git
• A friendly and confident manner and good communications skills
• The desire to continuously develop your technical skillset
• A positive, can-do attitude
• You will need to be within commuting distance of our Northampton (Brackmills) office.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in Windows desktop software development using .NET Framework (VB.NET/C#.NET)
• Experience with MVC frameworks in PHP (e.g. CodeIgniter)
• Web server administration skills (Apache/WAMP stack)
• Experience with JavaScript frontend libraries (e.g. React)
