The Fintech Products department at Booking.com is dedicated to creating best-in-class experiences for our customers through reliable, innovative fintech products. Within the Partner Payments area, we are focussing on the payouts, ensuring predictable, intuitive, reliable experience for the end users. Some of the users prefer to manage their payouts via a mobile app called “Pulse”. The app is available both on iOS and Android. Key Job Responsibilities and Duties: As a Full-Stack Software Engineer II (Android), you are responsible for the development and performance of the Pulse mobile app, as well as contributing to the back-end of partner experience-related systems. You will work independently and will also be involved in making technical decisions within a team. Important aspects of the job include: Implement new features and maintain existing ones in the Android Pulse app. Develop robust and scalable backend services using Java. Collaborate with developers to create cohesive and functional code. Optimize applications for performance and scalability. Manage and maintain code repositories using Git. Develop and maintain containerized applications with Kubernetes. Work with teams to integrate automated testing and deployment processes. Role Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field. 3-5 years of experience developing Android applications with strong proficiency in Kotlin. Experience with modern Android development practices and good understanding of Android SDK. Experience working with any of MVVM, MVI and MVP architectures and Jetpack Compose UI App Development. Proven experience developing back-end systems in an object-oriented programming language, such as Java. Knowledge and understanding of working with databases (MySQL). Strong knowledge of Git and branching strategies. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve. Nice to haves: Proficiency in Java and frameworks like Spring and Hibernate. Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. Experience building RESTful APIs for production uses. Understanding of unit and integration testing of back-end systems.
