Description
This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 4 years Location: Bangalore JobType: full-time We are seeking a self-driven Full Stack Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of internal tools that support Finance and business operations. This is a high-ownership role where you will work directly with finance stakeholders to understand workflows, evaluate and customize open-source solutions, build integrations, and ensure reliable delivery from design through deployment. You will collaborate closely with Product, Platform, and DevOps teams to ensure your solutions align with broader architectural standards and the overall product roadmap. As the single point of accountability for the tools you ship, you will be responsible for performance, scalability, security, and long-term maintainability. Key ResponsibilitiesStakeholder Partnership & Solution Design Partner with Finance teams to deeply understand workflows, reporting requirements, and operational pain points. Translate business needs into well-defined technical solutions with clear scope and milestones. Align tooling priorities with Product strategy and participate in planning cycles to ensure roadmap alignment. Full Stack Development Design and build scalable full stack applications using React on the frontend and Python (Flask/FastAPI/Django) or Go on the backend. Develop REST/GraphQL APIs, background jobs, and data pipelines. Write maintainable, testable, and well-documented code. Open-Source Evaluation & Customization Evaluate, select, and adapt open-source solutions (invoicing, billing, reporting, ERP connectors, expense management tools). Extend, fork, or wrap open-source tools behind custom APIs where necessary. Contribute improvements upstream when applicable. Integrations & Data Management Integrate with third-party services such as payment gateways, accounting platforms, CRMs, and banking APIs. Handle authentication, webhooks, reconciliation logic, and error recovery. Design and maintain relational and document database schemas (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB). Optimize queries, indexing, and migrations for performance and reliability. Infrastructure, CI/CD & Deployment Own CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins. Manage Dockerized deployments, environment configuration, and staging/production releases. Coordinate with DevOps/SRE and Platform teams on infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and incident response. Implement monitoring, logging, and post-release health checks. Security, Compliance & Governance Implement proper access controls, audit logging, and data validation mechanisms. Ensure finance-related systems maintain high standards of accuracy, reliability, and data protection. Document systems thoroughly and create operational runbooks for maintainability. Engineering Collaboration Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering ceremonies. Contribute to shared infrastructure and common libraries rather than building in isolation. Work cross-functionally with Product, Platform, and Finance teams to balance priorities and communicate trade-offs effectively. Required Qualifications 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong full stack background. Proficiency in React (hooks, state management, component architecture). Strong backend expertise in Python (Flask/FastAPI/Django) or Go. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker). Solid understanding of relational databases — schema design, indexing, query optimization, and migrations. Proven experience owning projects end-to-end from requirements gathering through deployment and iteration. Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience evaluating and integrating open-source tools in production environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure. Background in building finance or business operations tools (invoicing, billing, reconciliation, expense tracking, dashboards). Familiarity with data visualization libraries (Recharts, D3, Apache Superset, Metabase). Exposure to event-driven architectures and message queues (Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, Kafka). Understanding of financial data security and compliance best practices. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
