Role Overview We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the development of a next-generation medical inventory management platform. This role involves cloning and enhancing an existing inventory system while introducing AI-driven capabilities such as predictive analytics, automated reordering, and intelligent insights. You will own the full stack of the platform—from UX to backend architecture to AI integration—within a healthcare-regulated environment. Commitments Required: 8 hours per day with an overlap of 4 hours with PST. Employment type: Contractor assignment (no medical/paid leave); 100% REMOTE Duration of contract: 4+ months with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role upon successful delivery. Locations: LATAM, EMEA, Asia Interview: Technical Assessment, Technical Interview, Cultural Interview Responsibilities You will architect, build, and enhance a high-performance medical inventory management system designed to support the complete lifecycle of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals. This is a feature-rich CRUD application with embedded AI intelligence. Design and implement a full-stack medical inventory management system, cloning and enhancing an existing platform while ensuring feature parity and improved UX. Build responsive, intuitive UIs for tracking medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and managing orders, stock levels, and reporting. Develop secure RESTful APIs and handle third-party integrations, ensuring reliable data exchange and workflow automation. Implement complete CRUD operations for products, suppliers, orders, audits, and stock movements with strong data validation and integrity. Architect and optimize SQL/NoSQL database schemas for efficient, scalable storage and fast retrieval. Integrate AI-driven features including predictive analytics, demand forecasting, automated reordering, and intelligent alerts for low stock and expiry tracking. Build NLP-powered search and smart filtering capabilities, plus AI-enhanced dashboards for insights and operational decision-making. Ensure HIPAA-compliant security, including access control, encryption, audit logging, and secure data handling. Implement comprehensive testing strategies across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers to ensure system reliability. Optimize application performance, scalability, and robustness, maintaining clean, maintainable, well-documented code. 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development experience. Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and a leading frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular). Solid backend experience with Node.js, Python/Django, or similar frameworks. Strong SQL fundamentals (PostgreSQL or MySQL) plus familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB). Extensive experience designing and consuming REST APIs. Proficient with Git workflows and CI/CD collaboration. Practical experience with testing tools (Jest, Pytest, Cypress, etc.). Strong background building feature-rich CRUD platforms from scratch. Nice-to-Have AI/ML Knowledge (Preferred) - ML Frameworks, integration with AI APIs, understanding forecasting, predictive modeling, and applied machine learning. Experience with healthcare compliance and regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, FDA). Knowledge of medical/clinical inventory workflows and terminology. Exposure to real-time data sync, notifications, or event-driven architectures. Familiarity with barcode/RFID scanning or hardware device integration. Experience with Agile/Scrum development environments.
