OVERVIEW:

We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Java Developer with strong AWS cloud migration experience and a backend-focused full stack skill set. This role will support development, enhancement, and cloud migration of enterprise applications, primarily leveraging Java 21, Angular, AWS (EC2, EKS), and microservices. The ideal candidate is hands-on with Java/J2EE, experienced in large-scale systems, and capable of supporting legacy-to-cloud transitions in a DevOps environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications with a focus on backend services.
  • Lead or contribute to cloud migration efforts, specifically to AWS (EC2, EKS) environments.
  • Develop and maintain APIs, integrations, and backend services (REST, microservices).
  • Analyze, modernize, and migrate legacy applications to cloud-native architectures.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Create and execute unit and integration test cases using JUnit/TestNG.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and support high-availability applications in production.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to architecture decisions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on Java/J2EE development experience.
  • Strong recent experience with Java 17 or 21.
  • Solid experience in cloud migration projects, especially to AWS (EC2, EKS).
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native development, containerization, and orchestration.
  • Experience with Angular (2+ or AngularJS) and Bootstrap for frontend needs.
  • Experience working with DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience using GIT/Bitbucket, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Experience with API Management tools and RESTful service development.
  • Understanding of message queues (MQ) and relational databases (DB2 preferred).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Agile/Scrum experience in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
  • Knowledge of enterprise cloud security and best practices.
  • Experience in large-scale application modernization projects.
