Are you an experienced PHP developer looking for an opportunity to take ownership of projects, solve challenging problems, and work with the latest Laravel-based technologies?
We’re seeking a hands-on Senior PHP Full Stack Developer to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping and evolving our modern, containerised platform. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work across backend and frontend layers, influence technical decisions, and help drive best practices.
You’ll collaborate with a small, skilled team, working with technologies from the Laravel and TALL stack—including Livewire, TailwindCSS, Docker, Redis, and AWS—while improving architecture, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of scalable, testable backend services in Laravel.
  • Own service-layer logic, background processing, and third-party integrations.
  • Improve queue job handling, error management, and traceability.
  • Work with DevOps and QA to enhance CI/CD pipelines and testing processes.
  • Optimise Docker-based environments and development workflows.
  • Identify and resolve technical debt with clean, maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate on frontend improvements using Livewire, TailwindCSS, and Vite.
  • Mentor others, maintain high code quality, and champion best practices.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with modern PHP (8.0+) and Laravel (10+).
  • Full stack expertise, including Blade, Livewire, Vite, and TailwindCSS.
  • Database design & optimisation skills (MySQL preferred).
  • Experience with Redis for caching and queues.
  • Comfortable with containerised environments (Docker, docker-compose).
  • Knowledge of background job processing and queue workflows.
  • Version control and collaborative development using Git.
  • Pragmatic approach to testing, ideally with PHPUnit and CI/CD exposure.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary (£50,000 – £60,000)
  • Company pension
  • Sick pay
  • Medicash health scheme
  • Opportunity to work on impactful projects with autonomy

Apply now to join a forward-thinking development team where you’ll have the freedom to make technical decisions, work on challenging projects, and see your work make a real impact.
