Description
Description Do you believe that joy is just as important as care? Are you part event planner, part therapist, part creative genius and 100% passionate about making every day meaningful? If so, we’ve got the perfect role for you! We’re looking for an Activities Manager to design, lead, and elevate an engaging, person-centered activity program that brings purpose and joy to a diverse community of residents. What You’ll Be Doing This isn’t your average desk job. You’ll be: Creating meaningful moments by assessing each resident’s interests, history, and abilities, then turning that into personalized activity plans. Designing dynamic programs that range from music therapy and pet visits to cultural celebrations and independent pursuits. Being the ultimate connector; collaborating with nursing, therapy, social services, families, and community partners. Bringing spaces to life with engaging calendars, festive décor, and orientation tools that keep everyone connected to time, place, and each other. Leading the charge on engagement through one-on-one visits, small groups, large events, and even off-site adventures. Championing resident voices by supporting resident and family councils and ensuring ideas and concerns are heard. Tracking impact, documenting participation, evaluating outcomes, and continuously improving programs based on what works. Balancing creativity with strategy by managing budgets, supplies, and program resources effectively. What Makes You a Great Fit You’re equal parts compassionate and organized, creative and analytical. You thrive in a team but can also lead the charge. You bring: Experience in healthcare, long-term care, or activity programming A background in recreation therapy, occupational therapy, or human services (degree or equivalent experience) Certification as a Recreation Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant, or Activity Director (or eligibility) Strong communication and documentation skills A knack for reading the room and adjusting plans on the fly A genuine passion for advocating for others and enhancing quality of life Bonus Points If You: Have experience managing programs or teams Love thinking outside the box (aromatherapy today, talent show tomorrow?) Can turn a simple idea into a meaningful experience Why This Role Matters You won’t just be planning activities. You’ll be creating purpose, reducing loneliness, sparking joy, and improving lives every single day. Requirements Education BS in Recreation Therapy (preferred), Occupational Therapy, or a human services field; or, Associate degree in human service field, with relevant experience; or, High school diploma with two years of experience in social or recreational programming within the last five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activity program in a health care setting. Licenses/Certification Certified Recreation Therapist; or, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant; or, Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or state-specific). Valid driver’s license Experience Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred. One year in a patient setting in a health care environment required. Experience in management/administrative duties preferred. Note: All employees of Cascadia Healthcare are required to submit and be cleared to work in the facility per each state’s specific background check requirements prior to contact with patients/residents.
