Minimum of one year recent commercial trucking operations experience required. TruckMate software knowledge is preferred but not mandatory.

PURPOSE:

This is a full time that role entails working Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The Afterhours Dispatcher portion of this role is a key operations function that oversees the drivers (both company drivers and partner company drivers) to ensure their needs are met for workflow during the weekend (Saturday / Sunday) shift.
The Maintenance, Safety & Compliance Assistant portion of this role will take place on the Friday / Monday shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• On Saturday & Sunday dispatch shifts you will:
• Deal with driver issues and concerns as they arise (accidents / flat tires / delays etc)
• Have the ability to think quickly and have a plan B to deal with specific issues when they arise.
• Tracking drivers and equipment to facilitate the timely delivery of customer freight to its final destination.
• Provide timely daily updates to customers on freight.
• Use knowledge of North American geography to research and determine the most cost efficient and economical routes
• Answering driver and customer calls; send and respond to emails related to shipments
• Manage Customs (PARS/PAPS/ACE/ACI) documentation and records (relevant contract requirements, route changes, relevant maps and driver details)
• Keep management informed regarding progression of business and updates as required.
• Meet or exceed weekly company expectations for communication with customers and drivers.
• Liaise with day shift dispatch team and planning team at the beginning and end of every shift to communicate potential issues and keep operations staff apprised of any delays or issues that have occurred during the afterhours shift.
• On Friday and Monday shifts you will work with our Safety & Compliance Manager and our Maintenance Supervisor to complete various tasks which can include:
• Updating our TruckMate TMS software with equipment maintenance information and continue building out our database.
• Assist with driver compliance requests *ie fuel cards / elog issues etc.
• Other tasks assigned by management.
