Role Summary: Assist in executing daily food preparation at CityGate Grille. Responsibilities:   1. Covers all stations throughout the kitchen as necessary. 2. Assist cooks 2, 3 and 4 in the preparation of foods according to guests’ orders or supervisors’ instructions, following approved procedures. 3. Trains and supervises Cooks 2, 3 & 4 in the preparation of food. 4. Preps food for service in accordance with established standardized recipes. 5. Sets up station and ensures that the work area is operated in an efficient manner. 6. Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by the management. 7. Restock items as needed throughout the shift. 8. Supports all training of other staff members as needed. 9. Informs supervisor of any kitchen equipment or machinery that is not working properly. 10. Properly stores food in designated containers and areas according to health department guidelines. 11. Assists in the cleaning, sanitation and organization or kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas. 12. Follows all CGG departmental policies and procedures. 13. Minimum Qualifications: Education 1. High school Diploma or equivalent education. 2. Culinary degree or pursuit of degree from a recognized culinary institute; or equivalent experience. Experience 1. Five or more years experience as a line cook preferred. 2. Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures. Illinois food handlers certificate required. Skills 1. Must be organized, self-motivated, and proactive. 2. Neat and clean appearance. 3. Ability to work in a team environment. 4. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work nights weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements 1. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours. 2. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis. 3.
