FULL TIME COOK

Location: Woodlands Rest Home Netherley L27 4YA
Hours: 5 days/week | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Must be flexible to cover shifts (Saturday–Friday)
Permanent position
Woodlands Rest Home is seeking a reliable, passionate Cook to join our team. This is a Permanent position. You will play a key role in creating nutritious, home-cooked meals in a warm and welcoming environment for up to 30 residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and tea from scratch.
  • Cater to residents’ specific dietary needs, including food allergies and fortified diets.
  • Work independently in the kitchen, managing all cooking, cleaning, and washing-up duties.
  • Complete all required kitchen paperwork and documentation.
  • Conduct stock checks and order supplies via computer.
  • Monitor the home’s diary to prepare for special occasions and larger groups.
  • Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.

Working Hours:

  • 5 x 8-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
  • Flexibility required to work across Saturday to Friday

Requirements:

  • Experience cooking for groups – care home or similar setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements, allergies, and food fortification.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic computer skills (stock ordering and documentation).
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
