Key Responsibilities  Dispatch Operations  * Route pickup orders to appropriate Production Assistants daily  * Track and maintain accurate records of vehicle locations and completed calls  * Operate two-way radio equipment according to center policy and FCC regulations  * Route same-day special donations efficiently  * Assign vehicles and coordinate all routes  Supervision & Communication  * Supervise assistant dispatcher  * Conduct Production Assistant meetings when necessary  * Maintain open communication with Transportation Supervisor/Director of Operations  * Keep supervisor informed of any vehicle problems, accidents, or other issues  Record Keeping  * Track and file all pickup tickets  * Monitor and document completed calls  * Assist phone receptionist when needed  * Maintain accurate documentation of all operations    Qualifications  Education & Experience  * High school graduate or equivalent  * Three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination  * Experience with two-way radio codes and operation  * Experience in routing and transportation procedures  Skills & Abilities  * Strong organizational and multitasking abilities  * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  * Basic computer skills in data management  * Ability to read and write simple correspondence  * Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division  * Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages  Physical Requirements  * Regularly required to hear and talk  * Use hands to finger or handle  * Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds  * Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds  * Specific vision abilities required include close vision  * Must wear back guard when doing substantial lifting or moving  Work Environment  * Office/warehouse environment  * Quiet to moderate noise level  What We Offer  * Opportunity to make a positive impact in your community  * Professional development opportunities  * Supportive work environment  * Comprehensive benefits package    The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
