We are currently seeking a passionate full-time Duty Manager with at least 2 years of previous experience in the role or similar.
St George Sailing Club is situated in Sans Souci which boasts our waterfront restaurant, offers two bars, a relaxed bistro with a seafood focus, a multi-purpose function room that can accommodate up to 250 people and not to mention our sun-kissed decks that is the place to be to unwind, relax and enjoy some mouth-watering food and delicious cocktails.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

  • The Duty Manager is responsible for the front-of-house operations of the venue during their shift. This includes effectively allocating work to and supervising employees in all frontline areas, as well as maintaining and complying with all safety, stock, and equipment procedures.

YOUR DUTIES:

  • Responsible for the smooth running of the day and night shifts
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards during the shift by leading their team with a hands-on approach and in a calm manner
  • Ensure quality food and beverage service and presentation
  • Maximise sales and profits through customer satisfaction and employee engagement
  • Responsible for opening and closing of club premises
  • Review bistro bookings and functions prior to the commencement of a shift to ensure adequate staffing and levels of service
  • Set up rooms and functions as per daily requirements
  • Prior to the commencement of a shift, ensure the club is clean, safe and set up to cater to members and guests – this includes consideration of the weather
  • Assume full responsibility of the Club in the absence of the Venue Manager
  • Confidently manage staff performance to maintain a great customer service experience
  • Leading the team by example
  • Coaching and mentoring staff to positive outcomes
  • Manage changes to rosters to ensure both, adequate coverage and labour cost

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • You will also possess a current RSA, RCG and First Aid Certificate.
  • Availability on weekdays, weeknights and public holidays.
