Job Summary The Department of Surgery is seeking an ENT Surgeon to coordinate and monitor high quality educational programme; contribute to scholarship; and provide exemplary clinical service in line with the departmental practice plan for the delivery of quality services to patients and their families. Responsibilities • Assisting residents in their rotation and implementing and monitoring educational programmes while ensuring programme outcomes are attained. • Assisting in the setting of examinations and ensuring formative assessments of the residents/interns are duly filled. • Promoting and facilitating residents’ research, participating in scholarly activities including educational and clinical research and facilitating the publication of residents’ research work. • Generate audits from clinical practice to align with expected clinical outcomes. • Provides pre-determined clinical service; outpatient and inpatient. • Establish clinical services aligned to areas of interest and specialization and attending to emergency cases as and when required. • Prepare a schedule of regular clinical teaching activity. Requirements • Applicants must have a Master of Medicine in Surgery. • Applicants must have completed their Fellowship program in ENT. • S/he must be registered or eligible for registration with Kenya Medical Practitioners’ & Dentists Council as a sub-specialist. • Should have a minimum of 4 years’ clinical experience at a reputable institution. • Should have a minimum academic position of Senior Instructor. • Should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Experience in leadership roles in medical education and clinical fields.
Responsibilities
The ENT Surgeon will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring a high-quality educational program, contributing to scholarship, and providing exemplary clinical service within the Department of Surgery. Key duties include assisting residents, facilitating research, generating clinical audits, and providing scheduled outpatient, inpatient, and emergency clinical care.
