St. Charles Community College (SCC) is located just west of St. Louis, in the heart of growing St. Charles County. At SCC, we have a passion for student success. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in serving a wide range of student backgrounds.
We invite qualified candidates to apply for our Full-Time Physics and Engineering Faculty Position to begin in the Fall semester in August 2025. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, student learning, assessment, and the use of technology in the delivery of instruction. They will be responsible for assessing student performance in coordination with other members of the Physics department to evaluate effectiveness of teaching and student learning and will have demonstrated successful outcomes with diverse student populations. Teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester. Responsibilities include teaching majors and non-majors physics, engineering, and physical science courses (Physical Science, Astronomy, General Physics, Engineering Physics, Engineering Mechanics, and/or Electrical Circuits).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • Demonstrate and embrace the use of technology in teaching.
  • Maintain the highest possible standards in classroom and laboratory instruction and assessment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D. preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the college level
  • Competence in ensuring that lab equipment is appropriate to the class level
  • Promote/develop student research-based instructional activities
