JOB SUMMARY:

The Food and Beverage Assistant provides exceptional customer service, assists in food and drink preparation, and ensures a clean, welcoming dining environment. They work under the supervision of a manager or supervisor to deliver high-quality service in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve customers, take orders, and answer menu queries.
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, following recipes and safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and equipment, adhering to hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Process payments, operate cash registers, and handle transactions accurately.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing tables, ensuring timely service.
  • Support stock management, including restocking supplies and monitoring inventory.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Team player with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or food service is a plus but not always required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights (e.g., trays, stock), and move quickly during busy shifts.

Education and Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • On-the-job training provided; food safety certification may be required.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced, dynamic settings such as restaurants, hotels, or event venues.
  • May involve working under pressure during peak hours.
