About the Role: Are you passionate about great food and exceptional service? We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Full-Time Grocery Department Manager to lead our team in Perrysburg. In this role, you will maximize sales and profitability by cultivating a beautifully stocked department, mentoring a dedicated team, and ensuring a sparkling clean shopping environment. You will work 45 hours per week over 5 days (including one weekend day and at least one closing shift per week). What You’ll Do: Team Leadership & Development Lead and inspire Grocery Department staff to achieve daily goals. Train and onboard team members on job duties, procedures, and equipment safety. Provide feedback through regular coaching and supportive performance evaluations. Build schedules to optimize coverage while managing budgeted labor hours. Inventory, Merchandising & Ordering Keep shelves beautiful, organized, and fully stocked across the sales floor and backroom. Track sales data and place smart orders to meet customer demand and maximize profits. Minimize shrink by managing out-of-stock and overstock inventory efficiently. Drive sales using creative special displays, cross-merchandising, and weekly ad plans. Stay trendy by scouting local competitors and market trends to keep WCM ahead of the curve. Vendor Relations & Operations Partner with vendors to coordinate exciting product additions and accurate pricing data. Collaborate internally during weekly manager, marketing, and ad-planning meetings. Manage shipments to ensure all incoming grocery orders are unloaded safely and efficiently. Step up to lead as the acting manager-on-duty in the absence of store leadership, supporting the registers or store-closing duties as needed. Requirements Required Skills & Abilities: Moderate computer skills, including email, Excel, Word, and online ordering systems Great multitasking, organizational, communication, and customer service skills Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time Leadership, sales, and merchandizing skills Previous experience working with vendors and ordering product Ability to travel to trade shows, seminars, and other retailers Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED Previous experience in grocery retail experience is required Previous experience in Grocery Department management, preferred Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of standing, walking, twisting, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, and reaching Must be able to frequently lift up 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds Frequent use of carts and pallet jacks (manual and electric) Frequent use of step ladders and step stools Ability to read small print on labels and shelf tags
