Our calling at PPEC of Palm Beach is supporting families in our community and the precious children entrusted to our expert care. PPEC of Palm Beach is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care center which was founded i to serve medically fragile children in Palm Beach County. What You’ll Do The LPN administers nursing procedures to patients in accordance with patient’s Plan of Care, such as sterile dressing, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, tube feeding, oxygen therapy, ROM therapy, catheterization, diabetic care, pre- and post -operative care, etc. The LPN also: Administers medications to patients orally, intra-, or subcutaneously Monitors effects of medications, records medication given and patient’s reactions Observes and monitors movement and activities of patients in the PPEC Assists/reviews MAR monthly and as needed to ensure accuracy Writes daily progress notes, nursing notes and reports of unusual incidents Recognizes and promptly reports condition changes to supervisor Why You’ll Like Working Here An opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in the community Working alongside passionate professionals that are experts in their field Working as part of a growing but close knit team Competitive benefits, paid holidays, time off, and 401K Requirements Valid LPN as issued by the Florida Board of Nursing Current CPR and First Aid certifications Must be able to pass a Level II background check Must be able to regularly lift and carry at least 50 lbs. safely Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of License Practical nursing techniques and methods Knowledge of medications and treatments used in patient care Knowledge of infection control procedures Experience in a pediatric care setting is a plus
