Madison College
is hiring a full-time Machine Tool/CNC Technology instructor. Madison College is a comprehensive, open-access institution providing a high-quality education to a diverse population, including first-generation college students. Work-life balance is an important element of Madison College. Flexible work hours and scheduling allow faculty to enjoy their lives outside of work. Full-time faculty work a nine-month contract for the academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), and teaching summer courses, if available, is optional with additional pay. Our goal is to conduct first round in-person interviews beginning the week of October 13, and second round in person interviews, with a teaching demonstration, beginning the week of October 27, for a January 5th, 2026, hire date.
This position is responsible for Machine Tool/CNC Technology instruction at the technical/occupational program level. This includes developing a relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, utilizing innovative teaching techniques and technology, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, school and college levels.
A faculty member in this position can expect to teach basic and advanced manufacturing, CNC machining, tool making theory, and apprenticeship coursework - subject to change dependent on departmental needs. Teaching will occur in person. All faculty are expected to be able to teach in a variety of formats, with training provided as needed for non-traditional delivery methods.
This position reports to the Associate Dean of the School of Technologies and Trades.
Madison College offers a generous benefit program including health and dental benefits and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). This position does not offer a relocation package.

Education:
Technical diploma with the ability to obtain an Associate’s degree or a Journeyworker certification in a related field within 3 years of hire. (Madison College offers tuition reimbursement)

OR
If no Technical Diploma, must have seven (7) years or 14,000 hours of related occupational work experience and ability to attain the Technical Diploma (and other educational requirements) within 3 years of hire.
Note: At least one (1) year of the required occupational work experience must have occurred within the five (5) years immediately preceding the date of appointment.
This requirement may be waived for applicants who have at least two (2) years of post-secondary teaching experience in the field within the same five-year period.
