POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of all aspects of property maintenance, continuing an established program that ensures the facility remains in excellent condition. This position is key to the guest experience and day-to-day operations, working proactively to maintain systems, respond to repairs, and ensure safety and compliance throughout the property.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a hospitality or commercial property setting
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general carpentry
  • Proven ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and building codes
  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies as needed
  • Valid driver’s license; trade certification(s) an asset (e.g., Electrical, HVAC, Millwright, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks across all hotel areas (guest rooms, common areas, kitchen, banquet spaces)
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to guests and staff
  • Oversee and manage maintenance logs, inspections, and service schedules
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and scheduled servicing
  • Ensure all building systems comply with health, safety, fire, and building codes
  • Maintain exterior areas including parking lots, signage, landscaping support, and seasonal tasks (e.g., snow removal)
  • Work collaboratively with the General Manager and department heads to prioritize work and support ongoing operational needs
  • Participate in capital improvement planning and assist in budget forecasting for maintenance needs
