We are a group of 5 family physicians in a busy family doctors office who are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and highly motivated medical office assistant (MOA) to work in our comprehensive family practice. We are looking for the right person, to work full time (4+ days/week).
Type: Full-Time
Location: Niagara-on-the-Lake
Key Responsibilities:
* Greeting and rooming patients in a timely manner
* Taking and recording vitals including blood pressure, temperature, height and weight
* Administering routine subcutaneous vaccines as directed
* Assisting with minor procedures such as suture removals and dressing changes
* Sterilizing instruments and maintaining autoclave logs and protocols
* Scheduling appointments and managing the EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
* Responding to patient inquiries in person and by phone
* Preparing exam rooms and ensuring cleanliness and proper supply levels
* Supporting physicians with administrative tasks and clinic flow
Qualifications:
* Medical Office Assistant diploma or equivalent training
* Previous experience in a medical clinic or primary care setting is an asset
* Comfortable with clinical procedures such as giving injections, dressing changes, suture/
staple removals
* Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems - Practice Solutions preferred, but will train
* Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
* Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
