OPEN POSITION: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Gastroenterology SCHEDULE: - Full-Time - 40 Hours per Week - Monday to Friday - No On-Call - No Nights - No Weekends - No Holidays COMPENSATION: - $130,000 to $150,000 Base Salary, dependent upon experience - Negotiable Sign-On Bonus - Malpractice Insurance - Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance - CME Allowance - Paid Time Off - Paid Holidays - 401k w/ 4% Match - Full Details Negotiable LOCATION: Upper East Side, Manhattan, New York COMPANY PROFILE: This organization is the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater New York City metro area with more than 35 offices serving 500,000 patients per year. In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in gastroenterology, pediatrics, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, podiatry, behavioral health, and more. Their staff of more than 400 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, with resources such as on-site laboratory and radiology services. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This is an outpatient position in which the nurse practitioner or physician assistant will specialize in general gastroenterology work in collaboration with physicians. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: - manage chronic illness as part of a preventative maintenance program - educate patients and families on GI condition prevention and maintenance - obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, and reasons for visits - conduct physical exams and evaluate patients - order laboratory examinations and tests; interpret results - prescribe medications - collaborate with other clinicians and staff to ensure continuity of care - attend staff educational programs and meetings A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon types of appointments scheduled and patient needs. All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants. The practice uses the Epic EHR.
