POSITION SUMMARY:

The Produce Clerk is responsible for maintaining and stocking our produce department. You will embrace a customer-first strategy, create an outstanding customer experience, and ensure a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To be a Produce Clerk at Pellicano’s, you should have:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • 1 year of customer service experience in a similar position (preferred).
  • Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple math problems accurately.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and an outgoing demeanor.
  • A reliable and dependable work ethic.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays.
  • Must be able to lift and carry products weighing between 25 to 70 lbs.
  • Good vision is required for inspecting and handling produce.
Responsibilities
  • Greet customers as they arrive and leave the store, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
  • Provide customers with detailed information on different produce products.
  • Accompany customers to their desired product or direct them to a customer representative.
  • Weigh and tag produce such as vegetables and fruits.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the produce displays, and follow all cleaning, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Stock and rotate produce to ensure freshness and visual appeal.
  • Assist with receiving and unloading deliveries of new produce.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.
