This job requires caring for others who need help staying or gaining independence while living with others in our Group Home. Day Shifts, Night Shifts, and Overnight Shifts Full and part time. Direct Support Professional (DSP) Essential Job Functions (differ based on client needs): Companionship Engage in activities (games, memory books) Assist with goals such as, but not limited to social and behavior functioning, coping skills, self-advocacy, confidence building, relationship building, safe boundaries, etc. by coaching, discussing, roleplaying, teaching etc. Assist members with activities of daily living (ADLs), including cooking, cleaning, showering, toileting, shopping, and managing money. Monitor member's health and report any changes in physical or mental condition to supervisors or healthcare providers. Assist with medical appointments such as transportation and coordinating with healthcare providers. Provide emotional support and encouragement to individuals. Recognize and respond to signs of distress or crisis situations. De-escalate challenging behaviors using positive and approved techniques to ensure safety for all members and staff. Facilitate community integration and participation in social and recreational activities. Participate in team meetings and assigned trainings. Other duties as assigned.
