Department of Paediatrics Full-time / Part-time Nurse The appointee will work at the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) and other hospitals and will serve in the genetic/metabolic and newborn screening team of the Department. The appointee will be responsible for (a) co-ordinating the logistics of newborn screening programme in the Department of Paediatrics and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology; (b) organising the genetic clinic and study; (c) obtaining parental consent, collecting blood spot samples from newborns, and tracking records and statistics of the newborn screening programme; (d) participating in the metabolic team clinic and newborn screening clinic; (e) offering genetic counselling to patient; and (f) assisting in the daily operation of Hong Kong Genome Project at PWH. On-the-job training will be provided. Applicants should be/have (i) registered nurses in Hong Kong; (ii) a valid Practising Certificate issued by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong; (iii) a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; (iv) at least 2 years’ clinical experience; and (v) high self-motivation and good organisational skills. Having experience in paediatric/obstetric services and handling newborn screening and genetic cases will be advantageous. Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
