Description
Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law, for a project examining the role of social media in cross border crimes in Asia and globally. The Research Assistant will advance the project's empirical and analytical objectives through data collection, analysis, and the preparation of research outputs. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Media Studies or related interdisciplinary field; (ii) advanced statistical analysis and strong legal writing skills; and (iii) proficiency in English and Mandarin. The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting literature reviews on social media, criminal justice, international law, digital governance and related fields; (b) providing administrative support for the project; (c) assisting with research design, data collection (e.g., interviews and content analysis), and statistical data analysis; and (d) assisting the Principal Investigator in media and judicial data collection, analysis, and research output preparation. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for eight months, renewable subject to good performance and availability of funding.
