JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for full time permanent Laboratory Technician with an industrial food production skill to support our team in the day to day running of the business, the Lab Technician will assist in the food sampling; measuring, analysing and maintain the lab area clean following our sample processing and aseptic technique procedure in cooperation with the rest of our laboratory team.

  Salary: £ 12.21 per hour.
  Hours: 40 hours per week Thursday to Monday between the hours of 09:30 to 18:00 (Part time may be available)

  For your information there is a Park and Ride (Bristol A4 Portway) at the end of our road (Victoria Road) so we are easily accessible by bus from the city centre. We are the last industrial estate on the right-hand side of Victoria Road before you reach the Port gates. By train there is a small branch line from Temple Meads Station to Portway Park and Ride station, approx. 0.5miles from our location in Avonmouth

• Determining bacterial colonies on plates and producing an accurate count.
• Laboratory analysis on food and water samples by various methods.
• To ensure the maintenance of equipment and adequate stocks of reagents and consumables are upheld in the Lab.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment along with general cleaning duties.
