NBER sponsoring researcher(s): Matt Backus and Ashley Swanson Institution: University of California, Berkeley Fields of Research: Applied microeconomics on health care, industrial organization, productivity, and organizational economics   Professors Matt Backus (UC Berkeley), Ashley Swanson (UW Madison), and Andrew Olenski (Lehigh) are seeking a full-time research assistant for two years. The job will involve close collaboration on a number of research projects in applied microeconomics focusing on health care, industrial organization, productivity, and organizational economics. The empirical setting will be long-term care. The position will be located at the University of California, Berkeley, and will come with an office. The ideal candidate should be completing (or have completed) a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in economics, public policy, education, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field, and have the following qualifications: * Strong quantitative background * Strong programming skills * Strong communication skills * Ability to work independently and in teams * Long-term interest in pursuing research in economics * Excellent academic record We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive research team.
