Position Description:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and NYS certification
• 5 years’ practical nursing experience
• Previous experience working with developmentally disabled populations required
• Valid NYS Driver’s License
• Able to work flexible hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing oversight to confirm that the highest quality of care is provided in all medical situations.
• Supervise medical and AMAP staff ensuring compliance with required documentation and training.
• Initiate positive interventions and resolutions of all medical care/medication/AMAP-related issues.
• Report discrepancies and/or problems related to medical care/follow up and AMAP administration to Healthcare Administrator.
• Participate as active member of Treatment Team, advising Team of any significant changes.
• Assume On-Call Beeper responsibilities in accordance with published schedule.
• Provide workshops/training on health-related issues for staff, clients and families.
• Attend medical appointments and ensure that hospitalized residents receive RN follow up.
• Discuss professional issues via telephone or in-person with residents, families, Agency personnel as needed.
