Description

PALADIN SECURITY IS LOOKING FOR EXPERIENCED SECURITY OFFICERS TO JOIN OUR TEAM FULL-TIME AT MULTIPLE SITES IN THE SQUAMISH AREA, INCLUDING HEALTHCARE FACILITIES, POST-SECONDARY CAMPUSES, AND CAMP SECURITY SITES.

These positions are well-suited for individuals comfortable working outdoors, on their feet for extended periods, and in remote, dynamic environments.
Pay Rate: $19.20/hour - $23.00/hour, dependent on the site and position

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid BC Security License
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License is an asset
  • Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain through Paladin if hired)
  • Comfortable with 12-hour shifts (ex. 6:00PM – 6:00AM)
  • Physically fit and capable of long patrols, including stairs and outdoor areas, regardless of weather
  • Comfortable working in remote camp environments on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol testing due to safety-sensitive worksite conditions
  • Basic proficiency with technology, including report writing, radio use, and mobile patrol tracking
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Availability to attend mandatory training at our Burnaby Head Office prior to deployment
    Please note: this is not a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) position.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular foot patrols, including extensive outdoor walking over uneven terrain and through various weather conditions
  • Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activities or safety hazards
  • Respond to alarms, medical emergencies, and other incidents
  • Provide first aid as needed
  • Write accurate and detailed incident reports
  • De-escalate potentially volatile or high-stress situations
  • Ensure site safety protocols are followed, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats and steel-toe footwear
  • Interact professionally with clients, site personnel, and members of the public
  • Manage lost and found and other front-facing duties as assigned
  • Maintain a secure environment at construction-oriented camp sites where safety is a top priority
  • De-escalate potentially violent situations
  • Interact with clients and the general public
