Description
Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Senior Automotive Diesel Engine Mechanics for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. Senior Automotive Mechanics will be modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Senior Automotive Mechanic will mentor and oversee team members’ technical deliverables to ensure customer standards are met. This Full-time Senior Automotive Mechanics position offers an AM day shift and is based out of Dearborn, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Senior Automotive Mechanics position below are strongly encouraged to apply.     Shift Schedule: * AM day shift:  (Monday – Friday + weekends as needed) Responsibilities: * Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections * Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components * Read, interpret, and follow service procedures * Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customers * Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders * Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs * Lead daily shop organization and clean-up Requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic * Excellent knowledge of Diesel Engines * Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment * Good attention to detail and organizational skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Ability to mentor and train others * Must have own tools with rolling toolbox * Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures Preferred Skills: * Certificate in Automotive Technology or related * State Mechanic Certification(s) * Valid driver's license * Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers * Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends Retirees and veterans are welcome.   Benefits: * Overtime when available * No certification required * Veteran friendly employer * We offer medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after your 60 days with Performance Driven Workforce * Opportunity to work with the latest automotive technology   Performance Driven Workforce is an equal opportunity employer.
