REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree/Diploma in human services field; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with autistic children an asset
  • Minimum two years’ experience and demonstrated competence in childcare/family support programs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and administrative skills.
  • Microsoft Office abilities (SharePoint, One Drive, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate or CSA Standard Z1210-17 Intermediate First Aid Certificate
  • Clear Child Intervention Record Check, dated within the past six months
  • Clear Police Information Check with vulnerable sector, dated within past six months.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License, 3-year non-commercial Driver’s Abstract, and use of reliable vehicle with $2M Third Party Liability insurance.
Responsibilities
  • Establish working relationships with organizational staff based on McMan’s key values of commitment, trust, empathy, respect, and genuineness.
  • Plan and supervise small group activities.
  • Assist in the orientation, training and development of program staff and pursue areas of professional development relevant to McMan’s objectives.
  • Manage difficult behaviors by applying effective behavior management strategies.
  • Perform regular file audits.
  • Complete formal supervision for relief staff and practicum students.
  • Be knowledgeable of community resources that will meet or enhance service participants’ needs
