Position Summary: The Systems Analyst at West Michigan Cancer Center (WMCC) coordinates the identification of system requirements and functional design specifications to meet user needs and solve moderately complex business functions. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs can be developed. Analyzes and revises system(s) logic. Assists users in developing procedures and trains staff on proper uses of IT systems. Responsible for assisting employees and other Information Technology (IT) personnel with the administration of WMCC’s information systems and completion of IT projects.

  • Support of all technology-related systems for WMCC staff and affiliated partners.
  • Assists WMCC staff in resolving hardware and software-related problems and questions.
  • Serves as a liaison between clinical staff and Electronic Health Record (EHR) analysts/engineers.
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving opportunities between technology systems.
  • Maintains network security protocols to foster the secure use of WMCC technology systems.
  • Participate in the development of project plans, implementation, and support of technology incentives.
  • Administer and implement security patching, system patching, and upgrades.
  • Effectively assist in hardware and software upgrade, and hardware and software deployment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
    Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience and/or certifications within information technology required. Applicable Epic application certification (e.g. Clinical Informatics, Clinical Content Builder) required or must complete certification within 6 months of hire. Completion of Varian Aria technical support course within 12 months of hire (e.g. ARA 100 Aria Support)
    Required Knowledge and Skills: Minimum of four years of information technology experience. Advanced knowledge of and proficiency with computer/server hardware and software is highly desired. Experience in desktop imaging, and application deployment, in a Windows Active Directory environment. Previous experience in a healthcare environment is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal skill to interact effectively with management, employees, peers and the general public. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to use critical thinking to interpret, comprehend and complete complicated and detailed projects in a timely manner. Ability to organize, prioritize and work independently. High degree of integrity to keep confidential all information related to WMCC patients, employees, physicians, and institution related information. Ability to accept and apply feedback
