SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with Preschoolers
  • Recent Vulnerable Sector Check
  • A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • Up to date immunizations
  • Familiar with “How Does Learning Happen?” would be an asset
  • Strong programming and communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of child development
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable interacting with and supporting families and community members
  • Ability to actively participate in the outdoor program in inclement weather
  • Physically able to lift and/or assist with the moving of a child, the moving of supplies or equipment

Responsibilities
  • To assist the ECE with planning and implementing an age appropriate program indoors and outdoors meeting the requirements of “How Does Learning Happen?” and the 4 foundations
  • To create a professional and positive image for the Agency on a daily basis
  • To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and be in compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Agency
  • To work as a member of a team which includes other staff, parents, community and the Agency
  • To share in the care and housekeeping tasks of the Centre
  • To grow and improve in the knowledge and skills required for the job
  • To create an inclusive environment where each child and family is valued
