Description

Role: Full-Time Driver
Location: Bracknell
Shift: Monday-Friday 06:00 - 15:30 and 2 Saturdays a month (Start/finish times can vary but would be a 9 hour day) 45 hours per week. Daily unpaid 30-minute break.
Hourly rate: £13.02

JOB SUMMARY:

  • The primary objective of the driver should be to ensure a professional and efficient delivery service to all of Bond International’s customers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent driving record
  • Multidrop delivery experience preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of road transport laws
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Checking the vehicle before commencement of the run and after completion of the run ensuring the relevant paperwork is completed and handed in to the transport office
  • Ensure you read, sign, understand and comply with the driver’s code of conduct
  • Ensure you read, sign, understand and comply with the driver’s handbook
  • Obtaining signed results for all goods delivered ensuring all details are completed accurately and a printed name is clear to read
  • Ensuring the drivers sheet is fully completed accurately and clearly
  • Ensuring the safe delivery and collection of goods in agreed timescales, taking no longer than the time required to perform the delivery at each customers site
  • Ensuring all road transport laws and regulations are adhered to
  • Reporting all issues encountered while on the run as soon as it is safe to do so, this includes all issues with tyres not loaded or incorrectly loaded or any issue that results in a delivery not being completed to the customers satisfaction
  • On occasions where you assist warehouse with the loading of the vehicle, ensuring the correct number of tyres are loaded before leaving the yard
  • Ensuring the vehicle is clean and tidy at all times, internally and externally
  • In the event of an accident ensuring you follow company procedure
  • Only fuel the vehicle at approved company establishments with the correct fuel and never with a premium or advanced fuel
  • Ensuring any payments collected from the customer are checked and counted in front of the customer before accepting receipt
  • Ensure you write the amount of cash received on the customers copy paperwork and sign it. This acts as the customers proof of payment
  • Ensure you only collect tyres from a customer when you have a valid Bond goods returns note, checking that the tyres you are collecting match those on the returns note. If a customer insists on returning tyres that you do not have a returns note for, call the transport office and ask them to raise a return and do not collect the tyres until they have given you a returns reference. Write this reference along with the tyre size and description on the driver’s log.
  • It may be necessary for you in exceptional circumstance to assist in the warehouse, which you will be expected to do willingly
