As a bicycle mechanic at this company, you will contribute to making 270,000 customers happy every day with a properly functioning bike, including 70,000 in Amsterdam. You can imagine that some bikes break down each day, and these bikes need to be repaired so they can be reused and make a customer happy again. Curious? Keep reading! Your workday starts at 07:00 AM with a team meeting where the goals of the day are discussed, and there’s room for questions. Then, you get to work with your colleagues. You take a bike from the rack and inspect it to figure out what’s wrong, going over the entire bike. Think of it as a vehicle inspection (APK) but for a bike. After giving the bike a proper clean-up, you take it for a test ride to check if it runs smoothly. Once it passes, you place the bike on the repaired bike rack and move on to the next one. We don’t expect you to know how to repair a bike from top to bottom right away. The company provides an onboarding program, and during this period, a trainer is always available to support you with any questions. If you master the job fully after 2 to 3 months and are working independently, the company will be happy to discuss the next step in your career, which could include growing into an E-bike mechanic in the long term.
