Job Title: Remote Intervention Specialist
Location: Remote (Must be licensed in Ohio)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a passionate, qualified, and dedicated Remote Intervention Specialist licensed in the state of Ohio to provide specialized instruction and support to K12 students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with students, families, general education teachers, and related service providers to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that promote academic and behavioral growth in a virtual learning environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, or other applicable areas)
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience working in a virtual or hybrid educational environment is preferred
  • Proficient in using online learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, ClassDojo)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Ability to build positive, productive relationships with students and families remotely

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Ohio Learning Standards and special education compliance requirements
  • Experience with behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and functional behavior assessments (FBAs)
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive strategies
  • Being bilingual isa plus
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct instruction to students with IEPs in a virtual setting, using evidence-based practices tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop, write, and implement IEPs in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and accommodations.
  • Monitor and document student progress; maintain accurate and timely records.
  • Communicate regularly with families and participate in IEP meetings.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to adjust instruction and interventions.
  • Utilize virtual platforms and tools to deliver engaging, accessible instruction.
  • Maintain compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and state-specific special education laws.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
