Now Hiring: Fully Trained Meat Cutter Cut and prepare local, thoughtfully-sourced and responsibly-raised meats and sustainable seafood for our customers. What You'll Do Perform skilled butchery across all meats, poultry, lamb, and seafood, including bone-in and specialty cuts, consistent with department quality and yield standards. Engage with customers and team members daily, providing knowledgeable, friendly service and answering product questions. Maintain daily case readiness by stocking and rotating product, and preparing items for full- and self-service displays Support department operations through inventory counts, culling of dated or substandard products, and participation in yield and margin goals. Maintain safe and sanitary work practices, including proper use of knives, equipment, and refrigerated/freezer environments. Lift and carry 50-75 pounds on a regular basis. Engage consistently with department team members and cross-functional partners using digital communication and operational systems, including Microsoft Teams, to support coordination, ordering, scheduling awareness, and timely information sharing. Requirements What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years of experience as a journeyman or above, cutting a variety of meats in grocery, restaurant, or locker/meat market settings. Outstanding knife skills and experience using machinery and equipment in a full-service meat and seafood preparation setting. Mastery of specialty products including sausage, smoked meats, and meal-ready preparations. Ability to perform whole animal breakdowns and create consistent, high-quality cuts with attention to yield. Demonstrated customer service skills and comfort in retail and counter-service environments. Alignment with New Pioneer’s commitment to organic, natural, and responsibly sourced foods. Attention to detail, cleanliness, and adherence to department standards. Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to read, speak, and understand English and perform basic math calculations. Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and creative environment. Additional Details This skill-based position requires a committed schedule which may include early morning, opening, closing, weekend, and holiday shifts on a regular basis. The Meat and Seafood Cutter 2 position is a full time, hourly position with a benefits package.
