OPPORTUNITY
MacEwan University is seeking a Functional Analyst for a full-time continuing opportunity with our HR Information Systems and Reporting department. Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will act as a functional expert in the implementation, upgrade, support and sustainment of PeopleSoft HCM, Student Course Feedback Survey and other HR systems. Focusing on Tier 2 support, you will investigate and resolve issues and respond to user requests for support regarding data integrity and audit, system functionality, user access, reporting, eliciting user requirements, conducting data analysis, user acceptance testing and preparing system documentation and training.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining a solid working knowledge of the PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) system, Student Course Feedback Survey and other HR systems including, but not limited to MacEwan forms, Code of Conduct, MacEwan ticketing system, and Power BI, to effectively utilize their capabilities;
- Assisting users with front-end activities and back-end configuration, processing operational requests and analyzing system issues, recommending system solutions, conducting mass updates as needed;
- Supporting the Student Course Feedback Survey by scheduling course evaluations, validating course evaluation data and managing relationships within the system, managing timelines, disseminating evaluations and troubleshooting software performance, and developing data collection tools for measuring faculty and program outcomes;
- Conducting user training and supports system functionality inquiries;
- Extracting data from HR Systems by designing and developing SQL scripts or PeopleSoft (PS) queries to generate regular and ad-hoc reporting;
- Processing regular operational security requests and related troubleshooting;
- Providing advice on the use of PeopleSoft to support business and user requirements;
- Conducting a comprehensive analysis of user requirements and preparing clear and complete documentation to formalize the business requirements;
- Preparing test documentation, conducting user acceptance testing and reporting test findings for approval prior to implementation;
- Creating, reviewing and maintaining PeopleSoft HCM-related training materials, system and process documentation, user guides and reference documents for users and the HR team;
- Supporting testing during updates and enhancements to the PeopleSoft platform;
- Collaborating with functional and technical staff from Information Technology to support application upgrades; and
- Collaborating with stakeholders on the implementation of new initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of a degree in Business, Computing Science or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years related experience, working with PeopleSoft HCM core modules, user security administration SQL scripting and query development.
- Experience in a post-secondary institution is considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
