This position is part time eligible with 80%.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, physics, or related discipline with several years of experience in a similar role as well as business intelligence experience
  • Relevant knowledge of IT architecture and solution design of business intelligence tool
  • In-depth knowledge of technological developments in the IT market for business intelligence tools
  • Relevant experience with Tableau Desktop for data preparation, data visualization and performance optimization, including the creation of standard reports, scorecards, and ad-hoc reports
  • Experience writing advanced SQL, performance tuning of BI queries, data modeling, and data mining from multiple sources (SQL, ETL, data warehousing) as well as experience in provision-support of cloud services (AWS/Tableau Cloud)
  • Technical knowledge of Tableau Server administration and the platform upgrade process (including stakeholder communication)
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines, collaborate, communicate effectively and manage conflicts
  • Work experience in virtual, international, and multicultural environmentsExcellent spoken and written English & German

Responsibilities
  • In your new role you will define the Tableau strategy and architecture in alignment with the Self-Service Analytics Product Team priorities.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Furthermore, you will stay updated on the latest Tableau features and industry trends, perform “Proof of Concepts” to evaluate their benefit for the company and implement them.
  • Besides this, you will act as a Tableau SME (subject matter expert) for users in the Boehringer Ingelheim Tableau Community offering regular consultation and support to stakeholders.
  • You will implement different initiatives to support the Tableau community, increase customer satisfaction, and promote Tableau as a Self-Service Analytics tool to be broadly used in the company.
  • In addition, you will provide new deployments, platform upgrades, and services to the Tableau users (including cloud capabilities within AWS/Tableau Cloud and AI), facilitate strategic vendor relationships and actively manage vendors.Moreover, you will create Tableau guidelines and monitor the usage of best practices across all businesses as well as look for opportunities to improve current processes and find efficiencies by applying industry best practices.
