QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably within the

automotive industry.

  • In-depth understanding of ISO 26262, particularly with respect to ASIL D.
  • Proven experience in functional safety analysis, including FMEA, FTA, and safety

concept development.

  • Strong knowledge of automotive electronics, embedded systems, and safetycritical systems.
  • Experience with safety verification and validation techniques, including fault

injection and testing methods.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
  • Certified Functional Safety Engineer (ISO 26262) or similar certification is

preferred.

  • Project management experience, particularly in managing functional safety

projects, is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage functional safety activities for Zone Controller products

adhering to ISO 26262 with a focus on ASIL D standards.

  • Define and develop functional safety concepts and technical safety

requirements throughout the development lifecycle, including hazard analysis,

risk assessment, and fault-tree analysis.

  • Oversee the creation of safety plans, verification, and validation strategies to

ensure compliance with industry standards and customer safety requirements.

  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure that safety

mechanisms are integrated into system designs.

  • Conduct safety audits, reviews, and assessments to validate the safety integrity

of products.

  • Lead and manage failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), fault-tree analysis

(FTA), and other safety analysis methods to identify potential risks and develop

mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure traceability of safety requirements from concept phase to production,

ensuring safety goals are met across all stages.

  • Prepare and present safety documentation, such as safety cases, to

stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

  • Act as the primary point of contact with stakeholders and suppliers for

functional safety-related issues.

  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging standards related to automotive

safety and ASIL requirements.

  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on functional safety best

practices.
