ABOUT YOU
You’re someone who’s passionate about adult education and genuinely motivated by helping people improve their confidence and independence through maths. With experience teaching Functional Skills Maths—ideally from Entry Level to Level 2—you understand how to engage learners from a range of backgrounds, and you know how to adapt your teaching to suit individual needs and goals.
You’re confident in planning and delivering creative, learner-centred sessions that bring maths to life. Whether you’re supporting learners with everyday numeracy or preparing them for employment or further study, you approach teaching with flexibility and empathy.
You hold a recognised teaching qualification (or you’re working towards one), and you’re experienced in using assessment and feedback to track progress and maintain motivation.
Collaboration is something you value. You work well with colleagues and you’re open to embedding maths into the wider curriculum where appropriate. You bring a positive, solutions-focused mindset and a willingness to share ideas and try new approaches to delivery and engagement.
If you’re looking for a role that allows you to make a real difference—and where your creativity, care, and teaching strengths will be valued—this is a great opportunity. You may also be interested in the potential to progress into GCSE Maths teaching within the department as you grow your skills and experience.
