Job role
A qualified and experienced Functional Skills tutor to deliver qualifications to Study Programme learners in our Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire training centres as per agreed timetable.

Responsibilities

  • Teach English and Mathematics Functional Skills qualifications at levels 1 and 2
  • Carry out initial and diagnostic assessments and create Individual Learning Plans for learners
  • Plan suitable programmes of study, schemes of work and lesson plans
  • Prepare and use differentiated teaching and learning materials
  • Deliver engaging and motivational sessions to groups or individuals
  • Record and track individual learner’s progress weekly and assess against the qualification learning outcomes to prepare for on-line testing
  • Complete preparatory mock assessments and administer ‘live’ assessments to achieve excellent levels of learner success
  • Maintain accurate records as required for examinations, all assessed work and report on learner progress when required
  • Follow all agreed Quality Assurance Systems and comply with all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements of statutory bodies

Qualifications and experience

  • A minimum of Level 3 qualifications in English/maths
  • A teaching qualification or interest in achieving one
  • Proven experience in a teaching environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with young people [16-19] is a distinct advantage
  • Salary will be pro-rata for 2-4 days per week to be agreed, depending on qualifications and experience

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £25,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
